I learned how to paint. 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 3
Someone special taught me patiently how to paint. I paint with water _base_ because it is easier to correct when you had mistakes . just wipe it with wet and clean piece of cloth and presto! you can start again!
I tried painting with an oil _base_ but it gets too long to dry unlike water _base_..quick to dry.Anyway I can paint it with a clear gloss varnish when it is needed.

Here is how I start to paint.
I painted the wall outside where we hang the clothes to dry...remembering all those instructions of the usage of those different size of paint brush and how to clean it before dipping it next to other color.

A good start eh!

But this one is painted by my daughter, 14.
She was also taught by Jim. She call him Uncle.
It took five days to paint the shelf where we use as a corner shelf to place our glass of booze.

It's fun!

He made a nice coffee table. He painted it with my favorite color. canary yellow. But because we did not painted it it white as a _base_ paint. he painted it more than 10 x on and on till we get the exact color I wanted. he is not satisfied with nailing the wood. he wanted it to last so he used screws and glues to bind the wood.

I asked for his signature under the painted table.

You will notice the two coffee cups. one is painted with an American Flag. and the other one is painted with a Philippine Flag.

This painting is more than a history .. a story to last. Perhaps I might not meet him again.. or maybe we still will... but who knows.
But this painting as I always look at it vividly.. it reminds me of a dream that came true.. meeting him.

We made a lot of things while he stays here.. painted so many things to remember ...we wanted it to last.
I am going to give them to my grandchildren who knew how to take care of those good remembrance of the past.....me and Jim.

Our distance is half of the world apart..........
