Ok people it has been a little bit slow around here. I think that we need to post some updates. I have to run to work now but I will post one tonight.

I agree. I check in here several times a day to see whats happening. I will see if I can get some more people to sign up also.

Only if "My Hinigugma.com" showed up at the top of Google. If I wanted to search a Filipino forum, many people would put "Fil-west forums" in the Google search and these shows up:

Asawa-Spouse, Filipino Forum.net, The World of Filipinas, Bahay ng Ningas, Visa Journey, Asawa International, Pinoy Info, AFWC forums as near the top searches.

My Hinigugma is in Google but only if you put as "My Hinigugma or Hinigugma" as search word.

A lot of Forums are slow. I am Admin of one, Mod on 3. The one I am part of the Admin Staff, it been slow for a long time. I will get some in for a day or 2 and then it dies again.

I had not posted for the simple reason, I do not have anything to say. I do try to come in everyday, but some times not able to. With luck I'll be even busier, new job..

Hi everyone!! I agree whole heartedly, Apple and myself having been talking about this problem with filAM sites, etc.

We have some ideas what we can do both in features here as well as advertisements and google tagging. I just did a work on one of my jobs websites and now it ranks 1st place on certain news keyword items.

Another thing, we need to increase the immigration info area. That drew a lot of people to Hinigugma. People have MySpace, Friendster (seems to be the favorite of Filipinos), etc., when it comes to keeping up with friends and stuff. People are not looking for that in forums. Forums are normally about things people want to discuss for answers to problems and issues like immigration or maybe culture issues that Fil-Am's go through.

This is what I have decided to do, but I will need all your help in this. This is what I promise, Ena and Josh is about to leave for the Phils on March 1st for 3 months, I will follow and be there 3rd month, May. during March and April, I will devote my extra time to finishing the website, but we all need to really come up with ideas and information that we think is important. I have two jobs and they both are busy and one has me up late hours early of the week which puts a major strain on me. That is why I can't be on here as often as I want. But that will change soon.

But remember, in my opinion, immigration issues and cultural information will be the driver to our site, but once they are here and become member the other areas of the site will create the family atmosphere that Hinigugma had.

So start now coming up with ideas for the website: changes, ideas, adjustments and ways to drive traffic here. Some we already know but the more heads we have the better we will get.

Here are some ideas i have now:

1. Work on Google and Yahoo search friendly coding, tagging and visibility.
2. Increase the informative part of the website that will cause people to come to the site. Include some of the ideas that Hinigugma had outside the forum within website. General info about immigration process.
3. Take advantage of some UTube or MySpace/Friendster, etc. intigration that is Fil/Am related
4. Work with Government Websites and Cultural/Fil/Am sites
5. _link_s to informative sites
etc. ... no doubt much more, that is where we need your input.

Just like what Excited and I had been discussing often. we would like to welcome new ideas for the improvement and support of the site.

Regarding the google and yahoo and all the other search engines. we are placing more tag for easier search.

That sounds good to me. I wish I was more computer savvy to help out, but unfortunately I'm not. I will see if I can get some more people to sign up also.

Ok i understand what you're saying here but that's no reason to stop posting, the last post was the 25th June. Moderators if not members need to make sure that the site is flowing and that the interest is not lost.
I say this as the former moderator of the original Hinigugma, that was lost because the site owner lost interest
